Winchester City Council has reported two Platinum RSPCA PawPrints awards for its animal-welfare work. Its announcement, updated on 8 October 2026, names stray-dog services and animal-activity licensing.
What has been recognised
The council announcement says this is its fourth consecutive year receiving both Platinum awards. The RSPCA's 2026 recipient list independently lists Winchester in both categories.
What Platinum means
The RSPCA explains that Platinum recognises organisations that have achieved Gold in the same category for at least five consecutive years. The programme covers animal-welfare services across England and Wales.
Keep the scope clear
These awards recognise the council's services. They do not verify an individual groomer, establish a new grooming law or create a business badge on GroomNear.
Choosing local dog care
Owners can compare grooming listings and use our first-appointment questions. Ask each business directly about suitable handling, current services and availability.
