The Pet Industry Federation's 2026 New Product Award shortlist includes a Health & Hygiene category. Its official finalist list names products from Buddycare, Poorly Paws, The Paws Lab and other businesses. Winners are scheduled to be announced at the UK awards event in Stoke-on-Trent on 5 November 2026. A place on a commercial award shortlist is news about an entry; it is not a finding that any product is suitable for every dog.

Start with the exact product and species

The category mixes dog-relevant entries with cat products and other items. For example, the list names Buddycare's Chlorhexidine Medicated Range, Poorly Paws' First Aid Cabinet and Tick Removers & Tick Safe Tape, and The Paws Lab's N'10 Dental Care Wipes. The shortlist alone does not establish the intended species, ingredients, permitted claims, directions or veterinary status of each item. Check the current manufacturer's label and instructions for the exact pack you are considering; do not transfer directions from a similarly named product.

Match the product to your dog's needs

For routine washing, the PDSA's pet grooming guidance advises dog-specific shampoo and checking with a vet first if a dog has a skin condition. Its advice also stresses choosing tools for the individual coat and seeking professional help with matting. A product described as medicated or aimed at a health concern deserves particular care: ask a vet which product, if any, is appropriate rather than treating an award entry as a prescription.

Separate recognition from evidence

The federation announced finalists on 24 September, and the awards event page confirms the 5 November date and venue. It has not yet announced a 2026 winner. This article has no sponsorship, affiliate link or relationship with the named entrants. We have not tested or ranked their products. The practical comparison is between a dog's actual needs and the product's verified label, not between publicity claims.

Ask before you use it

If a salon proposes a product for your dog, explain any known sensitivities and ask what it is, why it is being used and what aftercare is needed. Our grooming safety questions provide a starting point for that conversation; use the directory to contact a business directly. For itching, a new skin change or illness, seek veterinary advice.
