On 6 October 2026, the RSPCA published Lucy’s rehoming story. The husky was rescued in May 2022; the publication date does not mean the rescue happened this week.
Recovery came before rehoming
The charity describes veterinary treatment and care at its West Hatch Animal Centre. Staff helped Lucy become more comfortable with people and unfamiliar surroundings.
A foster home gave her time
Lucy spent about ten months with foster carers. According to the RSPCA, companionship with their adopted dog helped her build confidence.
Settling into a Cardiff home
A family from Cardiff met Lucy with their dog before bringing her home. The report describes further gradual progress, including play and accepting affection on her terms.
